Sydbank, Arbejdernes Landsbank and Vestjysk Bank enter into merger agreement
We advised Arbejdernes Landsbank in connection with a merger agreement between Arbejdernes Landsbank, Sydbank and Vestjysk Bank, with Sydbank continuing as the financial institution under the name AL Sydbank A/S.
The three financial institutions have decided to join forces to create a larger and more efficient financial foundation that can support a more competitive and sustainable banking structure in Denmark.
AL Sydbank will be among Denmark's five largest financial institutions, with headquarters in Aabenraa and a nationwide branch network.
The completion of the merger is subject to approval at the general meetings of the three financial institutions and to the approval of the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority and the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority.
